Customer Support / Contact Centre Engineer (w/m)


XDC is the leading digital cinema service company in continental Europe. Having successfully built up the Europe's largest digital cinema network, it is now moving into its next phase of expansion, with pan-European large-scale digital cinema rollouts.

The network is operated from the XDC Headquarters in Liège, Belgium. Through the XDC NOC Tools, the XDC Contact Centre (called NOC in the industry) operates mainly second but also first line support to its digital cinema customers.

XDC is looking for a full time Customer Support Engineer (M or F) that will incorporate the XDC NOC team. Reporting to the NOC Manager, the Customer Support Engineer will assist our digital cinema partners and customers in their operations.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Open incident or problem's tickets as soon as they are triggered either by the monitoring system or by a customer contact and solve them through the provided tools (knowledge base, remote control…);
  • Close incident tickets as soon as they are solved and keep the customer informed about the status of problem;
  • Answer customer questions in a professional and kindly way;
  • Understand and manage digital cinema systems and technologies, through training and experience;
  • Request help to other departments and suppliers for complex issues, prepare problem's documentation accordingly;
  • Evaluate with other CSE, procedures in place and, when needed, suggest optimisations to the NOC Manager;
  • Carry out off line task, either planned or punctual, on demand of the NOC Manager;
  • Understand the importance of the SLA in place and respect terms and conditions around it ;
  • Above your NOC agent responsibilities, you may be requested to go on site to support our customers and/or to fine tune your understanding of the systems,

Required:

  • Experience in helpdesk and/or customer support;
  • Flexible;
  • Organised and systematic with strong analytical skills;
  • Stress resistant;
  • Fluent in English and at least good spoken and written French, any other language would be a plus;
  • Good knowledge in data communication mechanisms and protocols;
  • Understanding of computer structure and systems;
  • Experience in AV technology would be a plus;
  • Ready to travel when requested,

Software Engineer C# .Net (w/m)

XDC, the first pan European company in Digital Cinema industry is growing and we are looking for:

Job Purpose

Starting from product requirements or product specification input from the Product Management department, the Product Development team builds the technical design of the product and elaborates the architecture of the solution. It insures the robustness, reliability, testability and upgradeability of all building blocks.
The Software Engineer develops software modules and interfaces (API) in the digital cinema domain. Taking advantage of his/her experience, he/she participates to the different steps of the development process: analysis, technical specification, development, unit test and technical documentation. The Software Engineer is able to work closely with peers in a fast paced dynamic environment.
Postholder reports to : Product Development Manager and VP Technology


Key responsabilities

  • 1. Analyze and review product requirements and product specifications input from the Product Management department, and discuss technical feasibility
  • 2. Build technical design proposals
  • 3. Develop new software components or modify existing ones
  • 4. Plan, define, and perform unit testing, and report about tests results
  • 5. Create or maintain technical documentation
  • 6. Integrate individual software components developed by yourself and others members of the development team
  • 7. Solve defects reported in the defect tracking system
  • 8. Identify risks and discuss them with the Quality Control department for building adequate test plans
  • 9. Make work estimates for the tasks assigned to you
  • 10. Plan, track and report your daily work and your assigned tasks, to your direct manager
  • 11. Respect agreed procedures related to the software development lifecycle process (SCM, defect tracking, build management, coding standards,...)
  • 12. Identify and proposes process improvements

Skills and Competence

Training :

Civil Engineer, IT Engineer or Graduate (bac+3 to bac+5) in computer science with experience in C#

Working experience :

Knowledge and working experience of C# under .Net framework
Knowledge and working experience of client server application design
Knowledge of SOAP and XML technologies
Knowledge of web services
Knowledge of database (SQL)
